Are your oil paintings computer generated?

Absolutely not. The canvases are prepared by hand, the original image is sketched in by hand and the paint is applied brushstroke by brushstroke by an artist.

What makes an oil painting reproduction better than a print?

Art reproductions painted by hand with high-quality oil paints are build to last. The paint is applied in layers, on a prepared surface, so the image will stay crisp and clear for generations. The patina and play of light over a hand-painted canvas is absolutely impossible to get with a flat print. Oil painting reproductions also retain their value better than prints and posters do. By choosing an oil paint reproduction, you're making a smart investment.

How long will it take for me to receive my oil painting reproduction?

We begin our work as soon as your order is placed. In about 7 working days, we'll send you a photograph for your approval. Once you've approved the oil painting, we'll rush it to you.

Can I customize my oil painting?

Absolutely! Your painting is created just for you. You can customize the size of the painting, how you'd like the painting to be mounted and whether or not you'd like to have the painting framed. You can request a different sort of canvas for your oil painting, or request that our artists use a particular brand of oil paint. Additionally, you can modify the original artwork to suit your personal tastes. Just talk to our customer service representatives to find out more.

Can I get my oil painting shipped quicker, perhaps from your warehouse?

Our oil paintings are custom-generated as you order them, so we don't use a warehouse. Cutting out the warehousing costs helps us keep our prices low, and allows us to give you a high degree of control. In return for the low cost and high control, we ask for your patience as we generate your oil painting reproduction. The quality will be well worth the wait.

How do you keep your prices low?

We don't generate slick catalogs. We don't keep climate-controlled warehouses full of completed paintings. We don't have a large staff of salespeople. Since our overhead costs are low, we can keep our prices low. And, since we're not spending our efforts on promotions and clearance sales, we can focus on what we do best: Generating the best oil paintings you'll find anywhere.

Do you pay the original painter a commission?

We're not interested in stealing anyone's ideas. As artists, we believe that intellectual property rights are paramount. Therefore, we do pay a commission to the copyright holder for each sale.

Will my canvas artwork look just like the picture on the website?

Your oil painting on canvas will look much like the original artwork shown on our website, with a few exceptions: it will contain any customization you've specified, the brushstrokes will provide a depth and authenticity impossible to see on a computer monitor and the color may vary ever-so-slightly, depending on your monitor's color settings.

If I order two copies of the same painting, will they look exactly the same?

Each painting is generated, by hand, by an individual painter. While our artists are highly skilled and have been trained to replicate paintings using time-tested techniques, these are paintings generated by people, not by computers, so slight modifications between copies are to be expected.

Do you guarantee your work?

An oil painting from Art Den is backed by a guarantee you can depend on. If within 30 days of receiving your painting you don't absolutely love it, send it back to us and we'll refund your money 100 percent. We'll pick up the shipping costs for the return, and you won't be charged a restocking fee. We stand behind our work.

What methods of payment do you accept, and is my payment secure?

Shopping at Art Den is safe and secure. We use PayPal to secure the safety of your payments, and our website has been verified by multiple testing agencies. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Amex and most other major credit cards.

Can I look at my painting before you ship it?

After your painting has been completed and inspected by our experts, we will send you a digital photograph of your oil painting for your approval. We will not ship your painting until you have given your approval of our work.

How is my painting prepared for shipping?

Oil paintings that have been framed or mounted are packed in protective materials, and placed in study boxes. Paintings with no mounting or framing are rolled up, packed in protective materials and placed in sturdy tubes. We're experts at preparing your painting for shipment.

What shipping options do you provide?

We ship your painting using DHL, Fed Ex or UPS.

How much will I pay for shipping?

You will never be charged for shipping and handling at Art Den. We pick up the tab for all shipping costs, always.
